Here are some questions that we often get. Please feel free to reach out and get in touch if you need more information.
Q: What is AsiaGEN?
A: AsiaGEN, the Asia Graduate Employers Network, is a community of Early Talent professionals across Asia. We support employers in attracting, recruiting, engaging, and retaining early-in-career talent across the diverse Asian continent. Our community is headquartered in Singapore and is completely not-for-profit.
Q: How is AsiaGEN related to SEAAGE?
A: SEAAGE, the Southeast Asian Association of Graduate Employers was a non-for-profit industry body based in Singapore. While SEAAGE focused on Southeast Asia, AsiaGEN expands its reach to cover the entire Asian region, reflecting the diversity and reach of its membership. AsiaGEN continues to be run by a committee of volunteer moderators to ensure lean operations with a bigger emphasis on serving the community. AsiaGEN’s mission is to keep the best elements of SEAAGE, which is to provide a safe and collaborative space for vendors, employers, and educational institutions to connect. Most crucially, AsiaGEN adopts a mobile-first, community-driven format that is more familiar and relevant to today’s content consumption habits.
Q: Who can join AsiaGen?
A: AsiaGen is open to all graduate employers in the APAC region. Whether you are a recruiter, a university career services professional, or involved in developing undergraduates, graduates, and MBAs, you are welcome to join our community.
Q: I represent a vendor or services provider in the Early Careers industry. Can I join AsiaGEN?
A: Yes, you most certainly can!
Q: How can I join AsiaGEN?
A: Joining AsiaGEN is easy and free of cost. Simply visit our website and sign up. You can also join our WhatsApp community by scanning the QR code or clicking the Sign Up button on our website.
Q: How is AsiaGEN funded?
A: As of the foreseeable future, AsiaGEN does not intend to collect membership fees. As a community-driven platform, an AsiaGEN event may be co-sponsored by vendors, schools, or employers with an interest in connecting and supporting the community from an event-to-event basis. Our Annual Conference is co-sponsored by our community of vendors, schools, and employers. Conference attendance fees are crowdsourced from attendees who pay for their own share. We do not accept monetary donations, and the AsiaGEN moderators are volunteers from the Early Talent community.
Q: What kind of events does AsiaGEN organise?
A: AsiaGEN hosts an annual conference that gathers graduate recruitment professionals from across ASEAN and APAC. We also organise regular events to facilitate networking and learning among professionals who share a passion for building up the region.
Q: How does AsiaGEN support my professional development?
A: AsiaGEN provides a platform for you to connect with other Early Talent professionals, share knowledge, and access resources that can help you in your career. Our community-driven reports and events offer valuable insights and best practices to enhance your recruitment and development efforts.
Q: Can I contribute to AsiaGen’s resources and events?
A: Absolutely! AsiaGEN thrives on the contributions of its members. Whether you have insights to share, want to host an event, or contribute to our reports, we welcome your involvement. Please reach out to Alvin or Sufie on LinkedIn for more information, or get in touch via the email below.
